Sound Advice from the Most Trusted MedSpa of the Kawarthas

THE TOP 3 MEDSPA TREATMENTS THIS SPRING

We know your time is limited and the world of beauty is vast. That’s why we’ve tapped into medical spa experts to share some simple, fast and valid advice. Here are 3 medi spa treatments to try now – and why.

1. Potenza™ RF Microneedling

What is it?

It’s a chemical-free treatment that targets areas of the skin with great precision.

Why is it used?

Potenza microneedling is used to reduce the signs of aging, the largest issue being skin laxity. It is also used to reduce uneven skin tone and acne scaring. Treatments can be applied to the face, lips, jawline, neck, décolletage, elbows and abdomen.

How does it work?

Potenza uses advanced microneedling Radio Frequency modes, a superior tip (with microneedles) and alignment options to tighten the skin through soft-tissue coagulation. Simplified, this treatment is used to wake up the skin’s natural collagen, giving as much as a triple collagen boost. “Since the Potenza’s RF energy is delivered deeply, it can produce faster, more dramatic results,” says an experienced Euphoria medi spa technician. The Potenza Cynosure RF microneedling machine allows technicians to control the depth of microneedle penetration, making the treatment applicable to a wide range of ages. Consensus from the medi spa staff at Euphoria is that Potenza microneedling provides a superior patient experience and the advantage of highly customized skin treatments.

When is a good time for Potenza RF microneedling?

Treatments can be performed at Euphoria’s medi spa in Peterborough in 45 minutes or less. Though Potenza microneedling can be done at any time of the year, Euphoria’s medi spa staff recommend treating skin to this procedure before things really heat up this summer. Following microneedling, a medi spa technician applies specialized moisturizer with high SPF factor to the area treated. Exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided based on the Euphoria technician’s advice.

2. PicoSure Pro / Skin Rejuvenation

What is it?

It’s an advanced laser skin resurfacing treatment that yields results for deeper skin issues.

Why is it used?

PicoSure Pro treatments can be used for  skin rejuvenation including acne scars, wrinkles and sun damage – as well as for skin pigmentation issues, dark spots, birthmarks and freckles. It’s also used for tattoo removal and stretch marks. It is used on the entire body and all skin types.

How does it work?

The picosecond laser precisely targets specific skin concerns – making it different than a chemical peel, which provides more generalized exfoliation. The PicoSure Pro laser treatment uses an array of diffractive lenses to focus, and redistribute, each pulse. When compared to other fraxel lasers, PicoSure Pro is noted for avoiding thermal injury. Respected U.S. dermatologists Dr. Emil Tanghetti and Dr. David McDaniel have used the PicoSure Pro technology extensively and endorse it over other laser treatments. Simply put, Dr. Tanghetti says its key advantages are “safety, comfort and efficacy.” Like other professionals using the advanced PicoSure Pro’s Focus™ Lens, Euphoria medi spa staff are seeing minimal downtime for patients.

When is a good time for PicoSure Pro skin rejuvenation?

Treatments can be performed at Euphoria’s medi spa location in Peterborough in 30 minutes or less. This Euphoria medi spa visit can be planned around a few hours in a day. PicoSure Pro skin rejuvenation can be done at any time of the year, with clients resuming their daily activities, including work. Direct sunlight and extreme heat should be avoided following the appointment. Medi spa staff at Euphoria also create customized plans for some clients to alternate PicoSure Pro skin rejuvenation treatments with Potenza microneedling.

3. CoolSculpting® - Fat Reduction

What is it?

It’s a non-surgical fat reduction treatment that contours parts of the body by freezing and eliminating unwanted fat cells.

Why is it used?

CoolSculpting is used to reduce fat bulges in the upper arm, back, abdomen, waist and flank, as well as on the chin and neck areas. CoolSculpting can be done as a non-surgical alternative to liposuction.

How does it work?

CoolSculpting uses rounded paddles in one of four sizes. The treatment equipment provides “suction and cooling sensations,” says University of California clinical professor Dr. Jason Roostaeian. A process called “cryolipolysis” occurs in which the targeted fat cells are crystalized. The freezing triggers fat cell death. The body’s immune system then naturally processes and removes these fat cells. The device has built-in safety measures with sensors. If the skin is getting too cold, the CoolSculpting system shuts down automatically. Since the freezing can be targeted using a smaller applicator, Euphoria medi spa technicians can also target loose skin under the chin, an area that can be challenging to change through diet and exercise.

When is a good time for CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is popular with swimsuit season heating up. Treatments generally take up to 2 hours and are done in a private, relaxed setting at Euphoria Wellness Spa in Peterborough. During treatment, clients can watch a movie of their choice on a TV provided by Euphoria. Clients can return to most normal activities following their medi spa visit. A series of CoolSculpting treatments should be scheduled with Euphoria Wellness Spa in advance. Results are gradual and generally take 2 to 6 months. Plans should include a good margin of downtime between CoolSculpting appointments.
