The 12th Annual Peterborough Business Excellence Awards will be handed out Oct. 21, with the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce naming the top local businesses from a variety of fields.

The chamber sent out a call for nominations in April and announced three finalists in each category Thursday morning. Nominees include small businesses, manufacturers, farms, startups, tourism operations, non-profits and local representatives of multinational corporations.

Also up for awards are cultural and entertainment-based organizations, including Peterborough Musicfest, Lang Pioneer Village, the Peterborough Museum and Archives, the Farmers’ Market and the ReFrame Film Festival.
